3D Printers are amazing tools and it doesn’t matter if you design your own models or find them online. In high school, I learned about CAD and built models for a rubber band powered airplane. Now decades later, I’m using those skills and more I’ve picked up along the way to create digital models for my 3d printing addiction.
I primarily use Fusion360 but I have experience with other programs such as SketchUp, 3DBuilder, MeshMixer, and OpenSCAD.
I needed some place to put my 2019 Kia Niro 120v charger. There were several good designs floating arount but all of them were designed to be mounted to a wall. My garage had a 3" metal pole where I wanted the charger to be. I was able to borrow specs from a few other designs and combine them along with my own wants to build a pole mounted setup. It used several u-bolts to connect the bits together and hold them tight to the pole.

This is a replica weapon from the game Fallout: New Vegas. The Plasma Defender prop was built in SketchUp and printed on a Makerbot Replicator 2012.

My wife is a long-time fan of Ender’s Game, so when the movie came out she decided to make a Dragon Army Flash Suit. Naturally, this meant she needed a gun to go with it, which is where I came in.
I designed the gun in SketchUp and printed the original on a MakerBot Replicator Dualstrusion. I started out by tracing a side view picture from the movie of the gun.

This a replica of the short staff Loki used to mind control Hawkeye and several others, and escape from the S.H.I.E.L.D. compound. This item is approximately 96 cm long (36 in).
